Creating a Packing List
Before you can even think about enjoying the sights and sounds of your dream destination, or the famous apple crumble from aunt Betty, there’s one important task to take care of: packing.
Here is a checklist of what I normally pack to survive a long-haul flight:
- Reusable Bottle of Water – Hydrate to combat fatigue! You can always fill it up after security!
- Massage Ball – for your neck or feet!
- Magazines – for the dull time and relax your eyes from the screen watching, which can dry your eyes!
- Compression socks – to avoid swollen and achy legs!
- Noise Reduction Headphones – calming music to your ears!
- Eye Mask – Your eyes need to rest too!
- Comfortable Neck Pillow – essential to not fall asleep on your neighbor’s shoulders and also avoid neck pain!
- Scarf – to snuggle and keep warm

Picking the Perfect Carry-On
Are you ready to hit the skies for the holidays? Whether you’re traveling to see family or spending Christmas in a far-flung destination, your carry on bag will hold all of your vital belongings while you’re on your flight, so it’s important to choose one that is both spacious and sturdy.
When picking out a carry-on, be sure to consider how much space you’ll need for all of your items. You’ll want enough room for a change of clothes, a few toiletries, your passport and boarding pass, and any other essentials you might need.

What to Wear During the Flight
When it comes to what to wear during your flight, comfort -not fashion- should be your top priority. You’ll be spending a lot of time in a small space, so you’ll want to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible.
That means wearing loose-fitting clothes that won’t constrict your movement. It’s best to avoid tight jeans, skirts, and blouses. In terms of footwear, it’s a good idea to pack a pair of sneakers or flats that you can easily slip on and off. You’ll also want to bring a shawl or scarf, as the cabin can be quite cold. And finally, don’t forget to bring your favorite travel pillow!

Keeping Yourself Entertained During Long Flights
I find that my long haul flight time sometimes are also the most “me time” I get in one go as I’m often traveling by myself, which means I am blissfully uninterrupted to read, work or catch up with movies I’ve been wanting to watch. I usually bring a good book and a couple of magazines, but I also always download some lighthearted podcasts or music to help fill in any gaps in your playlist.

Long Haul Hygiene Tips and Tricks
If you’re traveling long-haul this holiday season, don’t forget to pack the essentials! Start with a toiletry bag filled with everyday items like toothpaste and moisturizer. Then add mini bottles of sanitizer, tissues and even a pair of cozy socks. Don’t forget to pack a few fresh wipes to keep you feeling fresh and clean throughout the flight. They come in handy for giving your hands a quick wipe down before meals or for wiping down surfaces on the plane.
Finally, never leave home without a few snacks! Pack some healthy travel snacks like nuts, protein bars and dried fruit so you’ll have something to keep your energy up during those long haul flights.
By following these essential tips, you can make sure that you’re prepared for anything that comes your way while traveling this holiday season. From choosing the right luggage to packing your carry-on essentials, you can make sure that your holiday travel is as stress-free as possible.
Once you get to your destination, take a hot shower, and chill out with a glass of wine 🙂
If you can get a massage, highly recommended it!
Happy flying!
